Arizona
Alternative Log Homes What we offer to ensure success:
Arizona Alternative Log Homes works with full service general
contractors with the ability to construct your new log home
from start to finish. We focus on the log portion and offer
Southern yellow pine milled logs, advice, and training. We can
sell log home shell kits for the "do-it-yourselfer". These kits
will be raw milled logs sold by the linear foot with log screws
and gaskets.
Though quality work and customer satisfaction are our highest
priorities, building an Arizona Alternative Log Home is still
cost effective. Our homes run as low as $8.50 per square foot
in kit form and can be 1/3 less than a conventional home in
a "turn-key" project.
We provide both kits (any floor plan you provide) and custom
according to your specifications.
Why is this "alternative"?
We are not a "kit" log home
company. The sooner you erase anything that has to do with conventional
log home kits, the better off you will be. Get away from any
kit companies slick marketing department as soon as you can.
Kit companies in the South East are such a problem that the
attorney General of North Carolina had to get involved and issued
the statement below. Since this is a government agency, they
needed to remain somewhat politically correct, but if you read
between the lines you will
will get the point. See the statement here:

The issue is so bad that the Log Home
Builder's Association of North America offers an extended class
on specifically how not to get scammed.
Document number: 3836011453 log home
building class offered by the Log Home Builder's Association
of North America (http://www.loghomebuilders.org).
He are some details from the Log Home
Builders Association:
"If you are thinking about buying
a log home kit you should definitely take this class. We reveal
all the "cheats" that log home kit manufacturers
use that you should look out for, as well as teaching the
entire process of building a log home from scratch instead
of using a kit. "
Will Alternative Log Homes provide you with a Kit? Yes. But
our products and services offer alternatives to conventional
kits.
Bring any Kit company plan to us and
we will kit out the same plan and beat the price.
Maybe you don't care about price, ok.
Ask this of your kit company:
1. What happens if I want to change my
floor plan after the logs have been delivered and in the assembly
stages? Will you
widen a window, widen a door, change a wall, etc? Do you have
logs in local Arizona inventory that can be obtained immediately?
2. What if I am missing a log? What if
one is defective? What if I want to add a wall? How long will
it take your kit company to get you that log from the mill?
Is that a $1000 log or a $1500 log.
3. What if there is damage during to
shipping on log N8 just below your picture window? Do you have
the freedom to move that log to behind the kitchen counter?
What about about forklift damage, crane damage, etc.?
4. Will your kit company train your framing
crew? Certainly, they will send instructions. Do framing crews
read instructions? Will your kit company spend the first critical
day with your framing crew ensuring proper assembly and sealing?
5. Does your kit company have local models
at a dry-in only stage available for show?
6. Will your kit company align you with
a local experienced framing crew if you desire?
7. Did you buy too many logs? Will your
kit company buy excess logs back?
8. Are your kit company plans built to
current county sheer requirements? I believe the answer most
times is NO. Most kits are inadaquate for Arizona counties anyway.
What about energy requirements for the local area?
9. Will you kit company provide you with
log siding alternatives, timbers porch railings, knewl posts,
etc.?
Below is an example of the leadership in a kit company that
I once considered. Luckly I did my research prior to signing
the contract.
www.plannedparenthood.org
has an advocacy group providing the information below. The Man
Described below is the CEO of an East coast log home company.

That made me realize this industry has some serious warts. The
only way for you to ensure your success is to become deeply
involved in your own purchases and construction. This is where
I come in. I will help you develop your own home package, possibily
connect you to architects and builders, and sell you wholesale
logs along the way. I buy logs by the FULL truck load. Your
price is a wholesale rate for the logs, foam, sealant, screws,
etc. plus shipping. My profit lies in the shipping cost of the
extra logs I am able to purchase myself and load on the truck.
I'm shooting straight, and have no room to negotiate. Its that
simple.
Of course architectural plans, drafting,
or other material that we work out will be extra.
You owe it to yourself, and your success
to at least talk to me about your project.
